Scene Study I, II, III

This is the performance course for comedic and dramatic acting. In this course, on the first night we’ll try out several partner and scene possibilities (both dramatic and comedic two-person 10-minute scenes). These scenes have been written by the very best playwrights, giving the student the exact support that great writing provides. You’ll be blocked, you’ll learn the scene, we’ll rehearse, and after 8 weeks, there will be a showcase at the studio, where you’ll perform in front of an invited audience. I really feel that actors learn almost everything about acting by doing it (working in front of a live audience). Each actor in the showcase can invite four or more audience members.

Each course is 8 weeks (unless otherwise noted in the schedule), $50/week as you come.

Remember, if you would have to miss one or even two of the nights of the group course, we could always do a make-up outside of class at your convenience.

Scene Study IV …

Prerequisite: Completion of the Scene Study I, II, and III courses.

Some of the scenes in this course may be 3-person or 4-person 30-minute scenes. There will be a showcase at the studio, where you’ll perform in front of an invited audience.

Each course is 8 weeks, $40/week as you come.
